I also created a necklace with the same design! These few peices are a vast improvment on the actual final pieces from this design at the begining of third year!

People were looking at the necklaces at FES however I think they were too scared to ask for a price! Would I over-charge for such items?!

These cards went down really well at the show and I did make them with the intention of selling them at the show, however I got slightly carried away as you can see... There is far too much going on and they took far too long to sell them for a reasonable card-price! However I am rather pleased with them!

Images from Fashion, Embroidery and Stitch! xxx

This was my stand at Fashion, Embroidery and Stitch. I wasn't expecting the table to have a work-bench feel to it so I covered it with my fabrics hence the shabby-chique look (or at least that was what I was going for). I almost felt like an animal at the zoo! I felt a little scared at times and it's so tiring but a brilliant experince!

Fashion Embroidery and Stitch!

Ok so college is over the big world beckons... The good people of Madeira selected me to show my work at the Fashion, Embroidery and Stitch show at the NEC in Birmingham and I had an amazing time. I met some great people including Lucy Turnbull, Sarah Brockbank and her mother Julie and Sue Geldeard who were the other designers chosen by Madeira. I gained some interest from embroiderer's Guild who have contacted me to give a talk in Hull in 2012- not immediately sure what I'll actually give a talk about however it's all experience! I was also given a lead on some work experience at Liberty's in London and was offered some commission work from whom I'm still not sure lol she was in a rush and I was slightly flabergasted by her approach! Now I knew that when the great and almighty ;'Hobby Craft' (they also had a show on at the same time as FES) came to Teesside Park there was a big following but I was totally unaware of just how large that following was! I have never in my life seen so many craft people in one place going crazy for everything craft! Myself and the other girls had such a good time and learnt alot from the experience. I had some really positive feedback and just like to say a huge thank you to all the people who complimented my work and to everyone at Madeira for choosing me for this experience! I'm also working on creating an Etsy shop following the comments made at FES! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!

My New Designers!

This was my stand at New Designers which wouldn't have been up if it weren't for Micheal and his God given 6 ft 7" (I think!).
This piece of embroidery yook me months but i'm so pleased with it!

Here are some photos of our stand at New Designers! Look out for Claire Baker and the beautiful seahorse, 'Chancy'

New Designers and the end of college!!!!!!!!!!!!

New Designers was brilliant our stand (CCAD Hartlepool) did really well for contacts and I got some interest from Embroiderers Guild which is really exciting!!!
I have no idea what to do at the moment, college has finished and I am waiting for a reply from Dianne Harding who interveiwed me for work experience in India. I am waiting to hear back from my interveiw with Texprint. I can't handle the pressure!!!!!!!
Good news though! I have graduated with first class honours!!!!! I can not believe it!!!
I may look into doing an MA in print/embroidery...
The future is a scary place!
